How IP ownership works

Three tracks to own the capture

Who funds the mission decides who owns the IP, who holds the 72-hour staging window, and how Exchange royalties settle. Defaults below; live HQ Settings can tune percentages.

Track 1

Client-funded work

IP: 100% client-owned; The client keeps full legal title and commercial control. The field verifier is work-for-hire and holds 0% backend residuals.
Pay: Fixed field fee; Verifier receives an upfront Independent Contractor fee on the dispatch (not Exchange royalties).
72h: 72-hour client exclusivity; When the asset enters Exchange staging, the funding client holds exclusive broadcast and utility rights. Newsload and third-party buyers stay blocked for the window.
Split: 80 / 20 if listed; If the client monetizes on the Exchange, royalties settle at the default owner 80% / Bizbio Platform Notary Fee 20%.

Obligation: Valid site access (Trespass Shield) and visible VRA watermark attribution on public broadcasts.

Track 2

HQ-funded internal bounties

Platform- or tip-initiated · HQ-underwritten

IP: 50 / 50 co-op; Shared commercial stake: capturing field workforce and Bizbio HQ each hold half of the licensing cap table by default.
Pay: Advance Against Royalties; Verifier receives an upfront cash advance (about 10% of projected broadcast value). If the packet never licenses, that advance is kept. If it licenses, HQ recoups it from the verifier's 50% royalty share until repaid.
72h: 72-hour Newsload first look; During staging, Newsload holds exclusive editorial first-look and broadcast rights. The verifier may not post or leak media to personal social channels during the hold.
Split: 50 / 50 on Exchange sales; Secondary Exchange licenses settle half to the capturing verifier and half to Bizbio HQ (after any advance recoupment).

Obligation: Honor the staging hold — no personal social posting until the dark window ends or is waived.

Track 3

Solo Mode

Self-directed · operator as client of record

IP: 100% operator-owned; You are the client. Off-Exchange, you control the asset completely — ownership of the IP is not the same as Exchange commercial splits.
Pay: No field residual; No third-party verifier fee and no backend verifier residual. You pay wholesale infrastructure to seal; you keep your retail margin.
72h: Private until you list; Personal use has no Exchange dark window. The 72-hour staging embargo starts only when you choose to list on the VRA Exchange.
Split: 80 / 20 if listed; If you list on the Exchange, secondary sales settle at the default owner 80% / Bizbio Platform Notary Fee 20%.

Obligation: You assume local custody and backup responsibility for air-gapped or exported files.

After the dark window

Universal Live Exchange rights

Once an asset clears the 72-hour staging embargo (or that window is waived) and goes live on the VRA Exchange, these rights apply to every track — on top of that asset's cap table.

Newsload broadcast
Perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to syndicate across Newsload editorial, web, YouTube, and news networks.
Bizbio commercial AI
Perpetual, royalty-free right to ingest raw media, telemetry, and ATDIL JSON to train Bizbio's standalone commercial AI models outside the VRA product surface.
Third-party B2B licenses
Newsrooms and labs buy non-exclusive licenses; cash settles to the asset's cap table (80/20 client or Solo; 50/50 HQ bounty).
Prohibited AI uses
No voice cloning, facial re-mapping, synthetic persona creation, or anti-VRA spoofing tools — for third-party licensees and AI models alike.
